Dear Allastat,
I want to design an experiment where i would have to show 16 photos to the
participants. These photos represent different results of a test, so the
participants will actually see a colorful line and according to how bold the
color of the line is, they will have to interpret it as "positive"
or "negative". From their answers the scientists want to establish which level
of line determines the positive results.
This experiment is concerned only with the interpretation of the line. It does
not have a medical aim, but a quality. So there isn't a reference group.
So if i do a randomized design where all the participants are going to see the
16 photos, how can i calculate the sample size of the participants?
Thanks a lot,
Ioanna
