The Veterinary Laboratories Agency (VLA) is an Executive Agency of the
Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. It provides a
specialist veterinary resource to the UK Government to help it fulfil its
aims and objectives in veterinary public health and developing sustainable
agriculture and food industries.
An opportunity has arisen for a Risk Analyst to participate in a team,
working in all aspects of risk analysis. The focus will be on development of
quantitative risk assessment models in the field of national and
international veterinary and public health.
Candidates should have a degree (preferably in a quantitative subject or
which includes a substantial quantitative element) and experience in aspects
of risk analysis modelling. Knowledge or experience in some aspect of
agriculture, veterinary or public health or biology would be an advantage,
as would experience in project management or staff management.
The post is in Pay Band D £22,300 - £32,100 per annum and based at VLA
Weybridge in Surrey. Benefits for the Pay Band include 30 days annual
