Postdoctoral position in statistical bioinformatics
We invite applications for a post-doctoral research assistantship
to work on a project on Flexible Bayesian clustering and partition
models for gene expression data, funded by BBSRC.
It is directed by Peter J. Green, in the Statistics group of the
University of Bristol, and in collaboration with biostatisticians
and molecular biologists at Imperial College, London. It is
ideally suited to an ambitious recent PhD student with (a) experience
of modern statistical modelling, especially Bayesian hierarchical
models, (b) some knowledge of genetics or molecular biology, and
(c) skills in computing, including programming substantial codes
in C++, C or Fortran; however, candidates offering just two of
these but an interest and willingness to learn
the third are very welcome to apply.
The position is available for about 1 year 10 months,
starting on 1 October 2004, or as soon as possible thereafter.
