BSc in stats discipline essential, MSc or PhD preferred. About 10 years
experience required. Experience of teaching or lecturing required.
Details:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced statistician to lead
the Statistical Education function within GlaxoSmithKline's Statistical
Sciences Europe Department. You will be a key member of the department's
leadership team, promoting and managing the statistical education
portfolio.
Supporting research and pre-clinical development scientists within R&D,
you will utilise various training methods such as class based learning,
workshops and electronic learning, and provide an education program which
is balanced and gives appropriate business related statistical education.
In addition you will encourage statisticians to develop their statistical
skills and promote a learning culture so that the quality of statistical
solutions provided is maintained and improved.
Good communication and interpersonal skills are vital, as is your ability
to work well in a team and influence others. You'll ideally have a
post-graduate qualification in statistics with teaching experience and
some knowledge/experience of the pharmaceutical industry particularly in
solving non-clinical development and research problems. As this is a
senior role we are looking for a statistician with about 10 years
experience.
