The Candidate:
Bsc Biological Sciences 1 year experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech or
similar
Role Details:
A screening scientist is required to join the Molecular Screening
Department at GSK, Stevenage. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team you
will be responsible for developing, miniaturising and automating
biochemical assays for ultra high-throughput screening (uHTS) of chemical
samples. The successful applicant should have a relevant degree plus at
least 1 years experience within a screening environment. A good
theoretical and practical knowledge of biochemical assay technologies
(including fluorescence-based methodologies) is expected. Additionally,
you should have a sound understanding of enzyme kinetics and pharmacology
and be able to apply this knowledge within the context of HTS assay
development. You must have strong IT skills and be able to manipulate and
analyse large complex data sets using statistical principles.
