In the US that would be $122 per hour.
Depending on the seniority of the person, the duration of the
consultation, and the kind of client (non-profit, for profit, forensic,
funded university prof, unfunded prof, etc.), the number and level of
people supervised, that could be a very reasonable rate, especially if
it is "loaded". (expenses, benefits, payroll taxes, etc.).
I haven't charged that little for consultation to for-profits for a day
or two total time since at least 1990 including clients in the Bay Area
(I presume you mean San Francisco area.)
I do charge less (maybe even free) for pro bono reasons, travel to
particularly attractive places, etc. More for time in court in forensic
situations..
I work out of the Washington, D.C. area. I specialize in quality of
evidence in: public stats, research syntheses, research process, etc., I
have retired from a US Congressional agency from a position as Sr Math
Statistician. I am also a Social Psychologist.
For recent PhD's on our team, we might charge US$40.
