The next UK Extremes meeting is taking place on
Tuesday 14th December 2004 (day) - Wednesday 15th December (morning)
at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. The meeting is open to
anyone with an interest in Extreme Value Theory and its applications. If
you would like to attend the meeting, or part of the meeting, and have not
already replied, please could you reply to this email.
Final details about the meeting can be found at:
http://www.mas.ncl.ac.uk/~n9047156/evt-meeting.html
If you have any problems with the times of the events or the order of the
talks, please email me as soon as possible and we'll try to resolve it.
If you wish to give a presentation at the meeting, there is still space
available. It has also been suggested to have a brainstorm session on the
Tuesday afternoon. Further information about this is given on the website.
Please email me if you have an comments about this idea, good or bad, or
if you have a problem you would like to discuss as part of this session.
The aim of the meeting is to provide a forum for discussing current and
future developments in theory and methods for extremes. Hopefully this
will include discussion of interesting applications, but the application
of standard methods should not be the focus. The meetings should be
informal and provide a forum for feedback and response on current and
ongoing projects as well as a means of presentation of work that is near
or at completion.
Please feel free to forward this email to any colleagues that you think
might be interested in the group and/or the meetings.
Any thoughts or questions, please feel free to email me!
Thanks,
Jonathan Atyeo
