Two PhD-topics including scholarships on image analysis which might be
of interest for those on the allstat list are available at the Technical
University of Denmark.
CT-scanning and automated volume-segmentation of pig bodies
The purpose of the project is to model the biological diversity of pig
bodies for optimization of the slaughtering procedures. From
CT-scannings of pig bodies models for identification of anatomical
structures should be developed. These models should be used for building
simulation tools of the process from which fully automated procedures is
to be developed.
Automation of pattern recognition in magnetic resonance scanning images
Automation of pattern recognition of anatomical structures in
three-dimensional magnetic resonance scanning images has huge impact on
the diagnostic procedures. Within minutes the human brain can be
visualized, but it takes an enormous amount of time to analyse the data
set. The goal of this project is to develop a method for the analysis of
three-dimensional data sets and to apply the method in collaboration
with on-going studies of schizophrenia, dementia and sclerosis.
