RESEARCH INTO PRACTICE 2004
UNIVERSITY OF HERTFORDSHIRE
2 JULY 2004
***apologies if you receive this message more than once***
YOU ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE
The theme this year is the role of the artefact in art and design research.
This is a fundamental issue for all so-called practice-based or
studio-based researchers, and the strong response to our earlier call for
papers has resulted in a programme that will be both lively and focused. We
have attracted speakers from twelve different countries, and PROFESSOR
ANTHONY SNODGRASS, Emeritus Professor of Archaeology, University of
Cambridge, UK and JAMES FAURE WALKER, Senior AHRB Research Fellow in Fine
Art at Kingston University, UK will present keynote papers.
For full details and travel information visit
http://www.herts.ac.uk/artdes/research/res2prac/confhome.htm
We have been able to hold the conference fee at 125 GBP, and the special
reduced fee for students of 65 GBP. Once again, there will be a themed
exhibition in the gallery, good food and opportunities for networking all
day, and a social event after the conference closes. We are able to offer
reasonably-priced en-suite accommodation, or help you to find a local hotel.
If you are unable to attend but would like to recommend the conference to
your colleagues, please forward this message.
