Limelight features for March can be found via the Artifact homepage http://www.artifact.ac.uk/
This month Limelight highlights how Artifact can help you find quality-assured educational and
training information for the arts & creative industries in the UK and will be looking at:
* Education and training
* Museum education
* Online image galleries
* Collections and services relevant to education and training
This week focuses on those organisations which support education and provide learning materials for
use across all levels of education, for instance, Metier, NSEAD, the Sector Skills Council, NCDT and
the NLN. To discover other web sites which provide a wealth of useful information, guidance and
support for training and education in the arts and creative industries, visit:
http://www.artifact.ac.uk/displayfeature.php?id=21
Museum education will focus on museums and galleries that provide teachers' packs, worksheets and
course documentation. For instance, Tate Online has 'Tate Learning' which explores how the Tate
provides ideas and resources for learning and teaching about modern and contemporary art in relation
to their collections and exhibitions.
Online image galleries will focus on those resources within Artifact which give access to online
image banks such as AMICO, the recently launched Education Image Gallery, Getty Images and
Fineart.ac.uk, to name but a few.
Collections, services and Artifact projects will highlight many other services and resources
relevant to education and training in the arts and creative industries, such as the LTSN Subject
Centres and how they support and enhance leaning and reaching in the subject communities and how
Artifact will be enhanced for FE very soon.
That's Limelight for March!
