On behalf of the Joint Information Systems Committee, the British Library
and ProQuest Information and Learning, I would like to warmly invite you
to attend '..WAKING UP IN THE BRITISH LIBRARY..', a scholarly celebration
of the EEBO-TCP resource at the British Library Conference Centre on 25th
October 2004.

Early English Books Online (EEBO) holds digital page images of more than
125,000 books, pamphlets, treatises, sermons, plays and other works
published between 1473 and 1700.   The Text Creation Partnership (TCP) has
keyed in a significant portion of these texts, allowing them to be fully-
searchable.

This resource is of interest to many disciplines including the Arts,
English literature, History of Medicine, Languages, Music, Theology, and
the History of Science.

We are pleased to announce that Professor Lisa Jardine will be our keynote
speaker.

Thanks to a Joint Information Systems Committee deal brokered at the
beginning of the year, EEBO-TCP is available to all UK HE and FE
institutions for a nominal hosting charge.

Delegates will explore EEBO-TCP with key representatives from the
University of Michigan, University of Oxford (involved in the creation of
the resources), ProQuest Information and Learning and distinguished UK
academics using EEBO-TCP in their teaching and research.
