Developing Higher Education's Continuing Professional Development provision for arts and design practitioners
Are people working in arts and design being offered the support they need by Higher Education? This new report examines the match between supply and demand for Continuing Professional Development for arts and design practitioners in the South West of England.
Commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England, Arts Council England and Design Council Joint Working Group, chaired by Sir Christopher Frayling, Connections and Collaborations was prepared by Falmouth College of Arts and Dartington College of Arts.
The report:
* assesses the supply of, and demand for, CPD activities in the South West region in performing arts and visual arts (including design and craft)
* explores the variations in demand between sub-regions and sub-sectors
* assesses the role of Higher Education Institutions in skills development networks
* describes methodologies for assessing supply and demand, which can be replicated across other sub-sectors and other regions
* suggests areas for further action
