Subject: Item for Accessiuilt list

Marcus,

I seem to have had problems posting items - probably user error as
opposed to anything else! I would be grateful if the following message
could be posted to the list and also if you could confirm how I should
go about posting/responding in the future.

Thanks

Clare Armstrong

..................................

Hello All,

We have recently been commissioned to carry out a number of access
audits to public conveniences for a local authority client which will
involve looking at wheelchair accessible WCs as well as 'standard' male
and female provision. I am wondering if anyone has undertaken similar
audits before and could share thoughts on the level of detail that
should be considered particularly in relation to the needs of ambulant
users.

I would also be grateful for any advice on the RADAR key issue as I
understand that the majority of the accessible WCs are accessed by key
only due to repeated vandalism - from experience is this deemed to be
acceptable or could it be seen as discriminatory? Also where no
wheelchair accessible WC is provided at a location that does provide
'standard' facilities could the client be seen as not meeting their Part
III duties?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Clare Armstrong
