Hi Marcus,
It would be, as I suspect everyone knows, the bidet would have to be
installed in the same space as the toilet. This poses further questions as
to the viability of such a facility. The space would, as you say , need to
be the same as around the toilet. The increase in overall size of the room
would probably make it unfeasible.
However, I seem to recall, but am not totally sure, that there was a dual
system of toilet and bidet around some time ago. If I am wrong, then there
should be one.
Perhaps the Committee revising BS 8300 should carry out some research into
the installation of bidets in toilet facilities?
Cheers.
John.

Subject: [ACCESSIBUILT] Inclusive bidet?
Hi all
I have been asked by someone about what the specification for an
accessible/inclusive bidet would be, and I thought that people on these
lists may have some views. Has anyone come across one?
I would have thought that it would revolve around similar issues to toilet
in terms of height of pan for transfer; space around pan for transfer; drop
down grab rails or fixed rails depending on location of bidet to return
walls; operatability of controls; location and position of towel rails;
tonal/colour contrast of key items.
