Madeleine we apply through Planning Control and Supplementary Planning Guidance when neighbourhoods or residential estates are first built, and when Tranportation Plan traffic calming measures on longer roads rtake the form of predestrian refuges chicanes or speed tables at intervals.

Subject: Dropped kerbs and crossings
Dear All
Please can you offer advice?
We are looking at the requirement to provide dropped kerbs on longer side
roads and residential roads every 100 metres as recommended in "Inclusive
Mobility".
We have rejected the suggestion that we adapt the design of private vehicle
accesses for several reasons, but wonder what other highway authorities are
doing to pursue this aim?
I would be grateful for any input.
Madeleine
