Hi Malcolm
I would tend to be cautious as well because the chances are that it will
only get put on show when it is inspected and then put away and
forgotten about. Also depending on levels of vandalism in the area a
removable handrail is likely to be seen as a challenge to break, or
weigh in as scrap metal.
Regards
Marcus

Subject: removeable handrail
Hi all.
Does anyone have an opinion on whether a removable handrail should be
permitted to a ramp to a new building. The ramp forms part of the
access road for loading and unloading at a new arts centre. Because of
site constraints the developer wants the access road and the ramp to be
one. The developer wants a removeable handrail so that when exhibits or
equipment is being delivered the access road will be available for
vehicles. I feel very uncomfortable with this option, what do you think?
Thanks Malcolm Crate
