Hi John
Got to admit they are new to me and seem to be London based. They do
list on their site the following local authorities as being members:
Belfast City Council
Blyth Valley Borough Council
Cardiff City Council
Coventry City Council
Darlington Borough Council
Durham County Council
Gateshead Council
Greater London Authority
King's Lynn & West Norfolk Borough Council
Kingston upon Hull City Council
Kirklees Metropolitan Council
Lancashire County Council
Leeds City Council
Lincolnshire County Council
Liverpool City Council
London Borough of Brent
London Borough of Hounslow
London Borough of Newham
London Borough of Tower Hamlets
Middlesbrough Council
North Yorkshire County Council
Norwich City Council
Portsmouth City Council
Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea
South Tyneside Council
Southampton City Council
Southwark Council
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council
Surrey County Council
West Sussex County Council
Although I am not sure what membership benefits you get. Has anyone else
heard of them or from the above councils?
Regards
Marcus

Subject: [ACCESSIBUILT] Living Streets
Does anyone know about a charity called Living Streets formally known as
the
Pedestrian Association. They are organising workshops in London,
Liverpool,
Leicester and York in which they will "unpack the implications of the
DDA
for the streetscape". This will take them half an hour. They are also
going
to explain how to do a street audit and present findings.
Their promotion forms are not at all easy to read (using red lettering
on a
green background) and it seems to be quite expensive. If you want to
find
out more you can access their web pages on www.livingstreets.org.uk -
the
website does seem on the face of it to be easy to read although it does
not
carry any of the web accessibility symbols.
