There are various remote control power door opening systems on the
market that can be installed in the home as part of an overall
environmental control system. The following link is to a company that
installed a system in my house which I think gives some further details.
It may not be what you are after but will help in identifying other
solutions that are currently on the market.

Subject: [ACCESSIBUILT] opening doors from your wheelchair
Can you advise, or head me in the right direction for advice for the
following.
A young wheelchair user in Swansea wants to make a device for his
wheelchair
as part of his studies. This device would be able to open doors as he
approached them.
Is there anything on the market? where would he get advice?
Can anyone help?
Regards
