I have recently had a patient visit me from the UK who informed me in
her history taking that she had been suffering from bunions until she
saw a guy in London called, Tariq Khan, who proceeded to treat her
bunions with a preparation made from Marigolds. Now I don't know what
her ailment really was, but has any of you in the UK ever heard of the
treatment and or practitioner?

Subject: Locating Metatarsal Heads
We are currently undertaking a project into the plantar palpation of the
metatarsal heads in order to determine the accuracy of different methods
used to identify their location. This is in an attempt to improve the
way
we locate force sensors under the metatarsal heads. We are interested in
comparing static measures (drawing around metatarsal head) dynamic
measures
(e.g. ink print on Harris Beath Mat)and movement of the metatarsal heads
in
the shoe. We have found a paper by M.Lord (1992) that compares palpation
location with peak pressure location and a paper by S Spooner (1994)
that
compares palpation to x-ray. Does anyone know of any further research
that
may have been undertaken into the accuracy of the palpation of the
metatarsal heads ?
