I have been using a laser Low level Laser therapy LLLT since January for the treatment of warts using either an 820nm probe for 1min at 20HZ, 5KHz or 10Khz and a 46 cluster.
Regrettably I have not got rid of any of the warts and am just about to return to the torture of liquid nitrogen! If you contact either Thor or Omega, they will furnish you with various studies which claim to get rid of warts. Having used my laser extensively for almost 6 months I am not convinced despite the laser companies claims and suspect that their successes would also have occured with bannana skin, steak, nail varnish etc e.
Pat Thurnbull to be found at www.verrucaeblitz.co.uk or .com is doing research with granuloflex and laser, which I have also tried with no success. I did have lots of success with N2 but got tired of the torture sessions with patietnts and I saught a pain free effective alternative with laser.
Saying that, I treat a lot of sports injury patients and the usual foot pain patients and use my laser machine on virtually all patients I see, so I would not part with it despite my failures with verrucae. For pain laser is almost miraculouos for some patients and is therefore income generating. It is a painless treatment whatever you use it on. I am thinking of using it on a sever pain treatment setting prior to freezing with liquid nitrogen.
Look forward to your comments.

Subject: Lasers for treatment of plantar warts
Dear All,
Does anyone have experience of laser treatment for verrucae? I have been
having some difficulty in finding information about suitable lasers (and
availability in the UK), but I understand that pulsed dye lasers are
suitable and that so are carbon dioxide lasers, although with the latter
there have been incidents of scarring and a poss hazard from Human Papilloma
Virus genetic material in the smoke-plume.
Is laser therapy a) really effective for verucae? If so can verrucae be
treated in just one session? b) Is it painful and requires injected
analgesia? c) What is the capital cost of the preferred type of laser and
are there issues regarding eliability and running costs? d) Presumably high
power lasers require special training and precautions.
Any input from practitioners who own/use lasers would be greatly
appreciated.
