Hi Gareth,
I like Brukner and Khan's 'Clinical Sports Medicine' (2001) for a background
of sports and biomechanical injuries, while for podiatry specific
information, Merriman and Tollafield's 'Assessment of the Lower Limb' was
always rather nice. A second edition is now available which I haven't had a
chance to look at, however a review is available at:
http://www.epodiatry.com/Merriman.asp
A review of Brukner and Khan from AJPM is also available at:
http://www.apodc.com.au/AJPM/information/Book_review.pdf
Hope this helps,
Joel.

Subject: Text book for Lower Limb Medicine
Mailbase,
What text book would suggest I purchase to have a more
complete knowledge of lower limb medicine. I have
finished schooling and have screeds of notes but no
one book to revisit while at work for information. at
the moment I am working at a Sports Medicine clinic
although seeing mainly biomechanical patients but hope
in future to also have some general practice with
diabetes, rheumatoid and children incorporated. Are
there any texts that would cover these topics that is
reasonably recent. I have read through Jahss and e
Valentine would appreciate something newer and maybe
smaller if possible. A more practical base in the
reading would be nice too.
Regards in advance,
