Dear Mailbase,
The PBG would like to announce the arrival of it's new website www.thepbg.org
The site includes news, a forum and much more!!!
Although the forum is in it's infancy there is currently an active discussion ongoing regarding mechanical foot models, started with a posting from Kevin Kirby.
The PBG continues to go from strength to strength and has just announced it's second conference on clinical biomechanics in conjunction with Staffordshire University on Friday and Saturday 23rd/24th April 2004 at Stoke on Trent. The emphasis for the conference will be therapeutic and sports footwear and the implications in the clinical setting with a focus in the diabetic foot.
The three note speakers are, Dr. Joseph Hamill - professor and chair, Dept. of exercise science,University of Massachusetts, Dr. Mike Edmonds - Consultant Physician, Kings College Hospitals, London and Dr. Wesley Vernon - Head of Podiatry Services, Sheffield NHS Trust.
The PBG continues to publish the International Journal of Podiatric Biomechanics (next issue coming soon) in conjunction with Staffordshire University and has recently published a new 'Focus' edition.
If you are interested in joining (we are UK based but overseas membership available) or finding out more please visit the web site.
Best Wishes
