Nice approach to the concept of stiffness in the foot and ankle.
A question I would like to ask is what would be the impact of different
stiffness in the medial, central and lateral portions of the plantar
fascia?
If the medial band was dysfunctional, would the increased load on the
lateral section result in calcaneocuboid type pain. If this was reversed,
would an insertional pain on the medial tubercle be more probable.
The inherrent stiffness of each portion may then be a route/cause for the
differing pathomechanics of plantar fascial dysfunction, escpecially if
caused by a compensatory mechanism e.g. increased stiffness in the TA?
Thanks
Phil
