That explains what I was trying to say better.
I think in our previous discussion i said something like hypermobility could mean one of two things:
1) A joint moves too much (ie range of motion related)
2) A joint moves when its not supposed to move (ie not range of motion related)
(1) is the standard definition - there are whole books written on the subjects (eg Beightons). (2) is used widely in Podiatry especially when taking about first ray hypermobility, but often I have no idea whether the author, clinician or student is really talking about (1) or (2) ????
Thats why I agree we meed to move to the mechanical terminology of stiffness or compliance
