Seems my figures for the existing NHS podiatry budget may have been an
under-estimate. I had a call this afternoon from a reliable source to
indicate that the reference tariff for NHS podiatry care is to be set by
the NHS Executive in Leeds at around £40.00 per visit/contact which is
almost double that indicated by the DofH 18 months ago. This may put the
current budget nearer the £200K p/a mark. This does not include, obviously,
the tarrif for surgical procedures.
