Hi Mailbase,
Does anyone know of any studies done using heel raises
in the treatment of Chronic Achillies Tendinopathy?
The reason for this question is I am receiving a fair
amount of referrals from Physiotherapists for this
condition. They have their studies from Alfredson and
Neisen-Vertommen for their part of the treatment using
eccentric stretching. I can adjust the abnormal
rearfoot mechanics via orthoses. But in some cases I
have been also using heel raises of 9mm initially
reducing down by 3mm every 3 weeks while also
controlling the rearfoot pronation via varus and arch
fill posting.
I have used this such treatment with excellent
results, but I would like to have some literature to
back up my podiatry treatment.
regrds,
Gareth Milne
