The rationale is evidence based practice. Of the limited number of RCT's in plantar fasciitis, one compared the silicione cushions, to custom made to prefabs - the siliscone cushions came out better. .... we could debate the quality of teh study and orthosese used, but it is published and these practitioners are doing what they are supposed to be doing
