Lee, and Kevins;
Let me muddy the waters further... If we gather the kinematic data w/
and w/o orthotics, whose "orthotic prescription" will we base the data on?
Will every device have a medial skive, or a 1st ray c/o? Will it be varus
posted at the RF and or FF? Will we use a reverse morton's extension (
valgus FF post ) ? Will we use a heel lift at all? What type of shoes
shall we test them in?
Point being, just as many of the studies done so far, kinematic or not,
have been heavily debated, so too will any FEM studies done based on only
certain of teh varieable above!
Sincerely;
Bruce Williams

Hi Kevin,
I'm not really familiar with it, isn't it hand data? But, comprehensive
kinematic data collected on an appropriate sample size would certainly be
one part of formulating a more complete FEA model for any mobile structure,
along with all the rest of it (material properties, etc...).
