Thanks for the response. The mechanics are not an issue. The information
availible to me at the moment is that the patient was asymptomatic with
hyperpronating feet and tightness in the TA's. He was prescribed FFO's
and physiotherapy by a different orthopod.
My question is more to do with the absolute refusal to use foot orthotics
once the child is diagnosed with DMD even thogh there is none of the
contraindications for FFO's described by Simon Dickinson and others here.
I am not aware of any papers supporting this theory and it doesn't sound
right to me. Sorry about the vagueness of the case clinically but that's
all I know.
