Hello All,
Kevin Kirby invited me to join the list serve. I have been reading the
discussions for the last few weeks and I think we may be barking up the
wrong tree.
My simplistic understanding of gait is that the lifting of the leg puts the
energy in the system, and the body utilizes this energy via eccentric
muscle contractions to provide forward motion.
Wouldn't we have a hip flexor (ilio-psoas) function eccentrically to
provide the external rotation?

This reference shows a region of negative power, corresponding to eccentric
hip flexor activity during midstance.
