Dear Dr. Nester
I am the one who mentioned that you came from somewhere else. I apologise.
Regarding the gluteal muscles/quadratus lumborum/tensor fascia lata.
There is a distinct flowing pattern in these muscle group for various
poses that they make during the walking and running cycle. These can be
individually tested, both during the well cycle (not efforted) and after
efforting (the unwell cycle). These are my phrases.
I use these cycles to change the power and thrust that athletes can exert
without any increase in physical strenght though timing.
In 2001, a patient of mine in 8 weeks went from 10.65 seconds for the
100metres to 10.323 to win the Australian National 100 metres after 6
months off with hamstring problems.
Hopefully this year (the way things are going, fingers crossed) he will be
first whiteman to break 9.98 seconds for the 100 metres.
This has basically been on changing timing of muscle groups thoughout the
whole 100 metres. This is the essence.
There is no such thing as core muscles. If there were they would talk
about 'uncore' or 'skin muscles'. I do not know of them.
Transversus abdominus is a myth!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (bite you all.
Everyone cannot wait to turn them on. If so why do they perform exercises
when the knee is bent or flexed greater than 15 degrees. This is how you
turn it off.
Another simple way to turn it off is to not move your arms when exercising
as in treadmill etc.
Regards,
PAul Conneely.
