Akbal,

Meeting govt ministers is one way to try and produce change. Part of the
dialogue of politics is just that, dialogue.
Whilst I would like to see the odd chance of the Kalashnikov method
being used to convert the difficult discussion is
What rational individuals carry out.
I am also meeting the leaders of medical royal colleges. I have done
that for 20 years and patience and perseverance will
Be rewarded even if not in my career.
The changes you and I both want to see for podiatry will not come
through revolution but will without the r.
I hope you are still prepared to spend the time to meet the HPC?

Kind Regards

Ralph Graham
Consultant Podiatrist
Witham, Essex, U.K.

Ralph you wrote
"I am meeting the same Minister in a few weeks and the same issues are
on the agenda. I was at the DOH this Monday last and many of the same
points were discussed with officials. Maximum involvement of the
available trained workforce makes good sense to NHS planners and public
and is only restricted by the finance. The DOH mantra which we heard
this morning is that such decisions are no longer made at the centre but
are left to PCTs begs the question in my mind as to why we still have
Ministers if they are responsible for so little."

I have a question, why are you wasting your time meeting with this
individual when you and I as well as everyone else in the podiatry
community will not benefit at all, from meeting with someone that has no
responsibility for anything. I suggest that you don't bother turning up,
going to the meeting will acheive nothing as I am sure you already know,
use your time better. Do some gardening, play golf whatever you want
anything will be more productive.
