Do you have excellent online searching skills and the ability to lead a team of librarians working to meet the information needs of busy health professionals?
We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to ensure the continued success of our Search Services Department.
The Royal Society of Medicine Library is one of the largest postgraduate biomedical libraries in Europe providing a full range of information services to the Society's c.18,000 Members worldwide, including a significant number of Corporate Members in the Healthcare industry.
You will lead the Search Services team in providing high quality literature searches (using online, print and web resources) and a wide range of user education activities. You will also take responsibility for managing and developing our remote access database service, and contributing content to the Society's website. All professional staff also work on the Enquiry Desk (including evening duties) on a rota basis.
You will need:
* Library/Information Sciences qualification
* Excellent database searching and Information Retrieval skills
* 3 years experience of Staff management
* Well developed communication skills
* Strong customer focus
* Flexible approach to work and ability to work on own initiative
* The potential to develop the service
* Experience of working with medical information resources is highly desirable
