free-of-charge in London. All are geared towards users who have
experience of STN Basics. Attendees will have the opportunity to
exercise the techniques discussed during skills practice sessions.

Techniques for Searching Derwent WPI and First View
Derwent WPI has numerous special features which add value to your patent
searches. Learn about PACOs, IPCs, Derwent codes and Analyse and
Tabulate. Use the reporting tools in STN Express to present your results
in Excel spreadsheets, reports and tables! Find out how to incorporate
records from the newly-added WPIFV into your searches and alerts to gain
maximum advantage of currency. This course is suitable for Derwent
subscribers and non-subscribers.

Diving for Treasures - Searching in Patent Full-Text files
STN has a comprehensive offering of patent full-text files, and unique
search and display features with which to interrogate this cluster.
Discover how to use the full-text databases to answer your patent
challenges. Learn how to search expiration dates, use correct
proximity, differentiate between applied for and granted claims, and
search the business and legal status databases to supplement your
results.

Techniques for Searching Inpadoc
Inpadoc is the most complete source of patent family and legal status
information available electronically. STN's implementation enables
in-depth legal status searching and alert setup to monitor grants,
divisionals, refusals and withdrawals, as well as easy crossover to
other databases to obtain comprehensive patent family data. Techniques
to search this valuable database will be discussed.

whether you would prefer to use STN Express or STN on the Web. Details
will be sent out approximately 10 days before the date of the course.
Places are limited, and attendees will have to share PCs.
