Hi Louise, Terry and others,
We also got a message from Louise Tutton of Ingenta back on Dec 8th, plus a
letter was sent out to the main UKSG contact in the institution on the 19th
Nov also alerting them to the forthcoming change.
We initially had the same problem as Terry i.e. although the issues were in
bold (or looked like they were in bold) we didn't have any access to the
full text. We then contacted [log in to unmask] with our MetaPress ID and
our access was sorted two days later.
Again, I have to say (as I said on this list in relation to the recent move
of LEA from Ingenta Select) that a transition arrangement should have put in
place so that the journal(s) remained hosted (although not necessarily
updated) on the Ingenta Select site for say a couple of months to give
people time to get their new access sorted. Ingenta Select doesn't have any
redirect or information in place either for LEA titles or for Serials, it
just says that the journal is no longer hosted by Ingenta. Although we've
got our access set up, our catalogue remains to be updated with the new
link, because it is on a large list of changes already needing to be done
for this year in relation to electronic journals.
Just as with the need for standard gracing periods, it is becoming
self-evident that other codes of practice need to be put in place to deal
with the issues such as journals changing publisher and journals moving
site. Maybe such codes of practice exist? If not, maybe this is the time to
introduce them.
Cheers
Lesley

Louise et al,
We got a message from Louise Tutton of Ingenta back on Dec 8th which said:
"The online version of Serials: The Journal for the Serials Community
(published by UKSG) will be moving online host as of January 1st 2004.
Serials Online will be available via Ingenta until the end of the year and
we are working with UKSG to make the transition as smooth as possible. If
you have any queries or would like to discuss your access arrangements for
2004 please contact Jenny Coates, email: [log in to unmask]
Alternatively, visit the UKSG website at:
http://www.uksg.org/serials/online.asp for the latest information.
Kind regards,
Louise Tutton
Client Manager, Ingenta plc"
We don't have access either, though the issues are in bold font which
usually means that we do have subscriber access (on the 6 other MetaPress
sites we have access to!)
As you say, talk about pot kettle black... ;-)
