GENERAL RELEASE: APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING
CHANGES TO THE ROYAL SOCIETY E-JOURNALS
The Royal Society has launched a new dedicated e-journal website www.journals.royalsoc.ac.uk <http://www.journals.royalsoc.ac.uk/> hosted by MetaPress. Our aim is to develop our online journals, including our FirstCite(R) early view article service, improve navigation, and provide the tools for serials librarians to manage their online access, including industry-standard usage statistics. We recommend that subscribers use the new website to access our online journals. A full list of links for each journal can be downloaded from the site, including Open URLs.
The Royal Society has already provided access registration data to MetaPress, so if institutions were previously IP-authenticated through any other Royal Society site or IngentaSelect, or they have a pre-existing MetaPress account, they will be recognized automatically as a "MetaPress Multiple-user" when they access the new website. If you have a current subscription you will be able to view all current content on MetaPress. Those researchers who have previously signed up to the Society's Content Alerting service will continue to receive these alerts.
To give libraries time to make any necessary changes researchers will continue to be able to view our content directly from IngentaSelect or Ingenta, and download usage statistics from there, as before. Users can also access content via the Society's main publishing site ( <http://www.pubs.royalsoc.ac.uk/> www.pubs.royalsoc.ac.uk) which now points to content on the new MetaPress-hosted site. We are in the process of contacting aggregators, and other third parties, so that they can update their metadata to link to the new site.
If you have any difficulties with gaining access to content on www.journals.royalsoc.ac.uk <http://www.journals.royalsoc.ac.uk/> , or with your MetaPress registration, you should contact the MetaPress Support Desk on [log in to unmask]
