I believe this may be of interest for lis-e-Journals readers
Press Release
22nd March, 2004
Extenza e-Publishing Services demonstrates that it has the winning formula
as publisher numbers grow
Extenza, a division of Royal Swets & Zeitlinger, today reveals further
growth¯signing sixteen new agreements with publishers taking their total
number of publishers to thirty five, since its launch in March 2003.
Its comprehensive outsourced service enables publishers to maximise the
revenue potential of their online journals hosted on the Extenza platform.
Publishers can own their web solution and have their content delivered to
their users using Extenza as the back office, as well as through the
infomediary and aggregator channels using linking technology.
Extenza positions itself as an extension of the publishers internal
functions, and it has already become a compelling alternative to the more
established players.
Worldinformation.com is the latest publisher to join, bringing 120 titles to
the service.
Interestingly worldinformation.com is the electronic publishing arm of World
of Information, a UK based business Information Company with 25 years
experience of international publishing for business people, governments,
international organisations and academics. We have been online for three
years and have seen an exponential growth of content on the internet. Users
have a great deal more choice now and having the right proposition that
attracts new customers to our content is what we are focused on states Tony
Axon, Managing Director. We are really looking forward to working with
Extenza. They have a wealth of publisher experience in their team so its as
if we have grown a new department overnight. We have the level of control
that we need without the cost burden, and they are very happy to help when
we need it.
Ruth Jones, General Manager of Extenza e-Publishing Services, adds,
Worldinformation.com are one of many publishers that have a level of
experience online, and are looking for a partner that will look to help them
maximise their reach and revenue potential from their content. In my opinion
the solutions tend to focus more on features, and can appear complex, whilst
users want to search and retrieve the content quickly and efficiently, every
time.
We understand publishers and have done our homework*our aim is to make their
lives easier. This is not just by providing leading-edge technology but an
experienced and committed team who understand publishing.
Extenza e-Publishing Services will be at the UKSG Conference, UMIST
Manchester, March 29-31st, 2004. Publishers should contact Gary Rodrigues,
Head of Sales and Marketing, to arrange a meeting and short demonstration at
the annual conference. We will be in stand 29, and would like to talk to
publishers who are considering the step to online, or are actively
considering an alternative to their existing suppliers.
