Hi Tim.
One for you this time.
I'll contact David to see if I can get hold of the data as a GIS layer.
When's the house move?

Best wishes,
Peter.

Subject: [FISH] Coflein launch

Coflein, the National Monuments Record of Wales on-line database, was
launched on 13th July. It is the first result of the ongoing SWISH
partnership between the Royal Commissions of Wales and Scotland and is based
on the existing RCAHMS applications Canmore and Canmap.

The database, which gives access to over 60,000 site records and 45,000
archive references, can be searched via a GIS interface (only available at
the moment on a limited number of browsers, including Internet Explorer) or
by text querying (available on most browsers). It also gives access to
around 3000 images, more of which will become available as our digitisation
programme progresses. An on-going cataloguing project will gradually provide
on-line references to all the extensive NMRW collections (currently
including over one and a quarter million photographs in addition to
drawings, surveys, maps and reports).

Coflein/Canmore development over the next year or so will continue to
improve the application, with Welsh language interfaces (for Coflein),
improved image searching, integrated digital archiving and thesaurus
functionality the priorities.

User feedback is very welcome and comments can be sent to
