IVth World Congress on Cyber-Law
Cuzco, Peru
The IV World Congress on Cyber-Law is organized as a follow-up to the
previous world congresses held in Quito (Ecuador), Madrid (Spain) and Havana
(Cuba). A vast array of areas will be covered : "Policies in the
information society" (e-democracy and e-government), intellectual property
and digital economy. "Human rights in the digital era" and "Society, Law,
and Technology" will include data protection and privacy issues, access to
the Net of priority groups, gender and new technologies, e-learning and Jobs
in the digital era.

43rd European Telecommunications Congress
Ghent, Belgium
Conference organised by the Federation of Telecommunications Engineers of
the European Union (FITCE). The Congress will focus on the evolution of
broadband for fixed as well as for existing and new mobile networks. The
congress topics - Mobility, Corporate/Carrier Services and Residential
Services-, will be approached from different angles: the associated vision,
technology, infrastructure, services and applications, as well as marketing
and socio-economic aspects.

Wide consultation on wireless tagging (10/03/2004)
The ability of wireless tags technology to identify individual items in
space could have a radical impact on the way we interact with the physical
world in the information age. With this in mind the European Commission is
organizing a wide consultation on wireless smart tags investigating the need
for further research in the technology and application domain. The result of
the consultation will be presented in a workshop held on April 20 in
Brussels and serve as a position paper in discussions on the content of the
6th framework workprogramme for 2005 and 2006. Consultation closes on 12
April 2004.

Open Workshop on IP voice and associated convergent services
Brussels, Belgium
The European Commission will hold a workshop in Brussels on an independent
study carried out for the Commission by Analysys. Analysys will present the
findings of their study on Internet protocol (IP) voice and associated
convergent services. The workshop is open for everybody but requires prior
registration.

First European Workshop on Model Driven Architecture with Emphasis on
Industrial Application
University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands
The purpose of the workshop is to exchange experiences with the use of Model
Driven Architecture by the industry and to create new ideas to improve MDA
and spread its use. The Information Society Technologies projects MASTER and
MODA-TEL are jointly organising a workshop.

Workshop on Community support on eGovernement in Acceeding Countrie
Brussels, Belgium
The workshop offers an opportunity to highlight achievements of national
projects in Acceding Countries, get insight on financing of eGovernment
using the Structural Funds as well as look forward to challenges and
priorities for future research and good practices. It is especially targeted
to public authorities at all levels in the New Member States, but all
stakeholders are welcome.

eTEN Information Day

The Commission's eTEN programme will publish in March 2004 a new call for
proposals. eTEN is designed to help the deployment of public electronic
services (e-services) with a trans-European dimension. The main focus of
eTEN in 2004 will be the practical realisation of on-line services in the
areas of eGovernment, eHealth, eInclusion (services for elderly or disabled
citizens), eLearning, Trust and Security services and services for SME's.

The EuroIndia2004 Co-operation Forum on the Information Society, funded by
the European Commission, is the fourth in a series of international
co-operation events to showcase the European vision on Information Society
Technologies (IST) and enrich it further through international cooperation.
European Commissioner for Enterprise & Information Society Mr. Erkki
Liikanen, will do the opening address at the plenary session of the event.
