Yes, I agree. Tim seems to think he knows, but perhaps he is scowling at
something quite different from Stephen.
I'm in the dark here, but, given the comment about Hallmark "content", I
suspect Stephen is objecting to avant garde love poems. Avant gardists
can't be seen, after all, to be all touchyfeelysofty, yuk, they might get
girl germs and their balls might drop off. And of course we all know that
"content" like love or suchlike can't be tough or rigorous or demanding of
intellect or anything like that, heaven forbid.
I could of course be quite wrong about Stephen's Complaint. In the absence
of examples, it is impossible to know.
