David,
You seem to have missed the dogfight over this one on the UKpoetry
list. Much offence was taken there at DP's hilarious introduction. I
have a review copy here (the review as yet unwritten, but it's for
Stride's online magazine).
The list of the included is:
Allnutt, Armitage, Ash, Bhatt, Burnside, Crawford, D'Aguiar, Disbury,
Donaghy, Duffy, Duhig, Farley, Fenton, Ford, Glenday, Greenlaw,
Herbert, (Selima) Hill, Hofmann, Jamie, (Alan) Jenkins, Kay, (Gwyneth )
Lewis, Lumsden, Maxwell, McKendrick, Motion, O'Brien. Oswald, Padel,
Paterson, Reading, Reid, Robertson, (Anne) Rouse, Shapcott.
I promise that I'll try to review the anthology as well as the
introduction, which several of the poets included would no doubt find
somewhat distasteful. In fact I hope to ask John Ash about it in about
10 days...
Tony
