Hi Rupert
you really have been hit by the flu. I just got it for about two and a half days, more or less, which comprised of one day feeling
absolutely dreadful while being hit by it and one day recovering from it while feeling just as dreadful while feeling slightly
ghastly for parts of two or more previous days (Vicky by contrast had the sniffles for about two or three hours one Sunday and that
was it)
Can't be more accurate than that!
My arguments with history are immense, although of course there is the soft sell and fragrance of redemption lurking around it. I
think I prefer poetry, particularly for its lack of answers.
All the Best

Subject: Re: Reading at the UN on Jefferson (to the flu)
Hi Dave, Christopher and all
Sorry, bad dose of flu in my previous missive which got worse. Hence
silence. I don't have rows and my argument are with history (well, the
rewriting of it). Wonderful discussion between Margaret Attwood and John
Pilger on BBC 4's 'Start The Week' this morning. My flu is abating on the
eve of the US presidential election.
As for me, out of my bed, I'm getting back to poetry...
All best wishes, Rupert
