Greta,
Vielife were recently appointed by the Home Office to provide health advice
to the UK's Police Forces. The first force to take advantage was
Bedfordshire Police and is mentioned in the latest issue of OH Magazine
albeit a 2 paragraph bit in the generic news items and in a series of
sessions to members of the force, they introduced themselves to the police,
what they do, which I understand is to provide generic health advice. I also
understand they got into the health field by providing health advice to
motor racing drivers and their teams. My wife who is a Police Officer states
that the Bedfordshire Police OH dept was involved in the setting up and
co-ordination of this project, which is I believe freely available to all
forces. She adds that they were not given any information on the
qualifications of the staff in the company. There is nothing on their
website to indicate this, but they do list their clients as being,
Standard Life Healthcare
Jordan Grand Prix
Sapient
NHS
Aventis
Mondial
Phillips Business School
and I guess the Police Forces of this country will now be added.
Following the initial presentations, Beds police officers were offered
access to on-line rescources, which each officer needed to register for.
i would suggest if you want further info that you contact Bedfordshire
Police OH at theeir Kempston, Bedford HQ.
With kind regards,
James
