Carol,
Are they really bites i.e. with an obvious puncture( under the magnifying
glass), or is it just reddening.? Has there been any actual insect evidence?
Are women more affected than men? Does your office carpet have high
synthetic fibre content, with a lot of extension cables and persons rolling
their chairs around rather than walking?
I ask because similar symptoms to those you describe occurred at a place I
worked at & didn't respond to insecticides etc. I then heard of reports
reddening on legs etc resembling insect bites but actually caused by static,
(affectionately called "Cable Bug"). Use of antistatic products (on desks as
well as carpets and advising ladies to wear cotton slips/socks for a while
seemed to solve the problem.
