Greetings UK readers
London public health are putting on a day (unfortunately only for
London PH people) on 2nd November on "tools of the trade" which is about
the various types of impact assessment and health equity audit. As with
previous London PH Network days the event will be multiagency and
multidisciplinary and free.
I have been asked to lead a workshop on race equality impact assessment
and would very much like to include a short (c.10minute) presentation
from someone/ an organisation who has done at least one race equality
impact assessment and changed something as a result. Could this apply
to you and would you like a day out in London on 2nd Nov? Travel
expenses would be payable.
Ideally the policy/ function you impact assessed would be something
where there is a public health implication, tho that's pretty broad, and
the icing on the cake would be if your organisation has really set up
"arrangements" as required by the Race Relations (Amendment) Act and
arrived at the need to do an impact assessment on whatever it was
through an explicit process and can demonstrate that the interested
parties or beneficiaries of the function/ policy were actively involved
and gave their angle on the impact.
If you think this might appply to you and you are interested please get
in touch. I would be happy to discuss. Also feel free to contact me if
you think you are on the verge of doing/ completing one.
By the way incase you have missed it the CRE's step by step guide to
race equality impact assessment is now on
http://www.cre.gov.uk/duty/reia/index.html
Thanks very much
