Hi Fellow Listers.
I am hoping that one of you can please help me with the below problem:
In 1890 a Captain Cray, in Australia to inspect some mines for his firm,[not
mentioned] was invited to inspect the Lady Alice gold Mining Company,in
South Australia, which he did, advising the Co' to sink the main shaft a
further 100 feet deeper.
I am wondering if his 'firm' was the 'MINES SELECTION COMPANY LTD'
and can any member give me any info on this company?
This is the only ref' I have found of Captain Cray's visit to the Lady
Alice, there were in the same period veiled 'hints' that the Lady Alice
Directors were trying to get English investers interested in funding the
company.
So any help in sorting out the above loose end, would be a great help to me.
Take Care.
Roger B Bradford, Of Elizabeth, South Australia.
