I was very facinated to read of the lectures on this subject regards Durham
aquafill ect.
Back home in Rossendale old mine workings provided much needed drinking water
for moorland farms and resaviours. The relativly new underground res cuts
through the old Deansgreave colliery workings, whilst Cowpe res has a conduit
feeding it directly out of the old Brandwood moor colliery. The now defunked
Greenfold res above Crawshawbooth was fed directly from Swinshaw Colliery horse
road whilst Clowbridge res has a pumping station utilising one of the old
Gambalside colliery shafts. What is the differnce between the two areas?
