Just been studying Wilkinson's N Wales data. Noticeable that, after entries
in Home Office List of Mines (or Quarries) ceases, there's v. often another
year or two of Inspectors of Mines Reports - e.g List 1873-1891, Reports
... 1892 or 1893.
Please excuse my ignorance, but is this because the Lists are of active
concerns whilst last Report confirms concern no longer active (& therefore
further Reports unnecessary unless concern re-activates)? And if it did
re-activate, was it (possibly new) concern's responsibility to inform Home
Office?
TYIA, Rgds,
Ken Smith.
