For the record, the NMRS publication was British Mining Monograph number 16
in 1981 by Chris Carlon. I have knocked up a quick page on our website with a
picture of the chimney at Gallantry Bank taken in 2000. Go to
http://www.derbyscc.org.uk/caving/miningtrips_club_f.htm and follow the Cheshire link.
I have never been in the Copper Mines pub although I drive past it from time
to time but it is too far south to be closely linked with the Gallantry Bank
mines which are located on the N-S fault that runs parallel to the range of the
Peckforton hills on the eastern side. In this respect, the mines are similar
in context to Engine Vein at Alderley Edge or the Mottram St Andrews mines.
