The above locations are in the Caernarfonshire parishes of Caerhun or
Llangelynin.
The quarry 'just to the west' in Kelvin's message appears to be
Talyfan slate quarry (it's named as such on my 1977 1:25,000 map but
not on my 1992 map) at SH738733 which is listed by Alun Richards.
(Wilkinson gives a reference of SH744733 for Talyfan slate quarry
which agrees with Kelvin's location above.)
There is a feature which I presume is the level and tip that Kelvin
mentions at SH 74367335 on the 1992 map. It seems to be either a
level or a very small quarry. It doesn't appear on the 1977 1:25,000
map or the 2nd edition 6" map of 1900.
So, unless anyone offers conflicting information I plan to correct
Wilkinson's location for Talyfan quarry and add the level and tip
reported by Kelvin as a new entry. Also, I'd be pleased to hear from
anyone who can tell me what is on the ground there.

In fact he was two separate saints! Hence his ubiquity. There was a
St. Celynin (of Llanpumsaint) and a St. Celynin (of Llangelynin).
